Tire Collection Event - April 22, 2017; 7am until 3pm

BCMCD Tire DriveBenton County Mosquito Control (BCMC) is planning on having its annual Tire Collection Event in 2017, from 7:00 am until 3:00 pm, at one location this year: BCMC headquarters (4951 W Van Giesen Street, West Richland).

This collection is only open to residents within the BCMC District boundary. You can use our website map to determine if you are in the District, or give us a call.

  • This event is for automobile tires only.
  • Rims or wheels will not be accepted; only the tire please.
  • Tractor, semi, or over-sized tires will NOT be accepted.
  • 20 tire limit per residence.
  • Please do NOT bring in tires cut in half or pieces.
  • Bring your ID or utility statement with home address on it for verification.

BCMCD EmploymentThe District is accepting applications for seasonal (temporary) employment. The season generally runs from May into September. Starting pay is $12.75 per hour. If you are interested you can find more information on our employment page and you may request an application, or download an application (it is 4 MB in size so it may take a minute).

The majority of position are for "field" Control Operators in which an employee will be primarily checking and treating (as needed) water sites where mosquito larvae are developing.  The District also hires a lower number of "lab" Control Operators.  This position is primarily monitoring mosquito populations; setting traps, identifying mosquito species, counting population numbers and testing for mosquito-borne illness (if applicable).  If you are interested in the "lab" position please note this on your application.
