Hiring

BCMCD EmploymentThe District accepts applications for employment year round, but please note that the season generally runs from May into September; consequently we do not generally start conducting interviews or make job offers until February/March.

Starting pay is $14.00 per hour. If you are interested, you can find more information on our employment page, and you may request an application, or download an application (it is 4 MB in size so it may take a minute or two depending upon your download speed).

The majority of positions are for "field" Control Operators in which an employee will be primarily checking and treating (as needed) water sites where mosquito larvae are developing.  The District also hires a lower number of "lab" Control Operators, know as Surveillance Technicians.  This position is primarily monitoring mosquito populations; setting traps, identifying mosquito species, counting population numbers, and testing for mosquito-borne illness (if applicable).  If you are interested in the "lab" position please note this on your application.
