Mistaken Identity?  Are they midges, or mosquitoes?

A change to warmer weather and sunnier days will likely bring with it an increase in insects.  Most insects are beneficial and not a concern for people, pets, and livestock.  But some insects are at best annoying and at worst harmful.  The following pdf document discusses a common insect that sometimes is misidentified as a mosquito; the midge.  In our area, we generally see larger number of midges hatching off as soon as the weather makes that turn from winter to spring.  Review the document to learn more about this insect and give us a call if you are not sure if you are dealing with midges or mosquitoes.
